Setting up Data Access Groups for SSC
Data Access Groups allow you to apply security on the data that is entered and maintained in SunSystems. They enable you to pull together operator groups so that you can permit them to access, or prevent them from accessing, individual data records. For example, you might have some confidential accounts which may only be accessed by certain personnel, in which case an appropriate data access group must be defined and applied to those account records in Chart of Accounts.
Data Imports via SSC components (non Bulk methods) operate in the same way as they do via SunSystems. They use the same Data Access options in Business Unit Administration (BUA) and Miscellaneous Permissions (defined in Security Console or User Manager) as do the Cobol applications.
Data Imports via SSC components (Bulk methods) only use the Data Access options in Business Unit Administration. They do not use any options in Miscellaneous Permissions. Data Access restrictions can be set for all the records in the table below.
Data Exports use the Data Access options on Business Unit Administration, and the Apply Restrictions options in Miscellaneous Permissions for Financials (Financials tab and Transaction Analysis tab only).
For all exports you can permit or prevent access to the following records:
- Items
- Warehouses
- Locations
- Zones
- Analysis Dimensions
- Analysis Codes
Note: Analysis Dimensions and Analysis Codes are implemented for all Analyzable Entities apart from for Inventory Issue, Inventory Receipt, Address, Employee, Fixed Asset and Receipt Note Line.

- Journal Types
- Movement Types
