Managing User Activity

The User Activity function is used by system administrators to monitor user activity, and also to clear operators when they are locked out of due to, for example, system failures.

  1. Select Security User Activity (SEC) to open the User Activity form. The grid section of this form contains one row for each session.
  2. Highlight a user in the grid to display the details in the Activity Detail pane at the bottom of the page.
  3. Specify this information:
    User Name
    The user name of the currently logged in user.
    Full Name
    The full name associated with the User Name.
    Operator Code
    Id of the currently logged in user.
    Session Number
    The operator's session number.
    Function Description
    The description of the function being run within this session.
    Current Business Unit
    The business unit being used within this session, where applicable.
    Current System
    The module of which the function being run is a part.
    Data Source ID
    The Id of the database to which the user is currently connected.
    Application Server Name
    The application server on which the session is being run.
    Application Server Process ID
    The physical process Id (PID) of the session running on the application server.
    Database Process ID
    The process Id of the session's connection, as allocated by the database server.
    Navigator ID
    An internal Id that is used to stop multiple navigators running at the same time.
    Web Protocol
    Describes the web protocol being used to access the system. For example, http or https.
    Web Host Name
    The user's local machine name on the domain.
    Web Application Context
    The application context of the web server hosting SunSystems.
    Web User Agent
    Represents the browser, and browser version, being used. For example, Internet Explorer 9 or Chrome x.
    IP Address
    The user's current IP address.
    Note: The display is not dynamically updated. To update the display with current details, as user activity changes, use Refresh.
  4. Save your changes.
