Running reports
You can run and view reports directly from Report Manager.
To run a report:
- Select the report definition to be run by clicking on the report name required. The Report Parameters page is displayed which shows the name and description of the selected report.
- Click on the Report Output tab and change any options as required. For example, you can change the Output Format and Output Filename.
- Select the required format for the report from the drop down list. For example, you can choose to produce the report as a web page, or as a spreadsheet.
- Click to run the report.
A rendering window is displayed informing you that the report is being generated. The window also displays this information:
- Task Id of you report.
- Status of you report.
Viewing your report output
Once the report has been generated, the report results are displayed. If you chose to produce the report as a web page, the Report Information page is displayed which includes:
- Navigation arrows to navigate through the pages of the report
- Percentage to zoom in and out of the report
- Find and Next fields to search for a word or words
- Export drop down box to export the data in the report to a file
- Refresh to update the data in the report
- Help to display the Help file.
Note: If you redeploy your report, you can simply refresh the output window using the button from the Toolbar.
Note: If you run a report as a web page from a function, for example Trial Balance, you must turn off pop-up blockers.
Documents usually output as PDF to the Output folder. Therefore, you need a suitable PDF viewing application to be able to open these.
