Inserting images

You can insert images onto your report if you wish.

From the Insert menu, select Image and drag your cursor across the report where you require the element to be displayed.

To change the image displayed in this field, you must first select the source by clicking the source property in the property pane and check External. You can then enter the URL path to the external image file. For example:

File:///C:/ProgramData/Infor/Reporting/ReportingLogo.png - refers to the file ReportLogo.png stored in the folder C:\ProgramData\Infor\Reporting on the server running SQL Server Reporting Services.

File://ServerName/images/ReportingLogo.png - refers to the file ReportingLogo.png shared by the specified server name in the share images.

Note: This must be accessible to the user running SQL Server Reporting Services.
Note: It is not recommended to use a machine-specific URL as this makes the report difficult to transfer between servers. The recommended way to add images is to create a simple web site which hosts the images, and access them via http.

You can also hide the inserted image or it can be toggled by another report item to change its visibility status. Right-click the image, rectangle, or line and select Properties. Amend the properties on the Visibility tab using the radio buttons and check box displayed. Click OK.
