Assigning Storage Characteristics

Storage characteristics are set up using Item Characteristics (ITC).

They can then be assigned to inventory storage areas using the following functions as appropriate: Inventory Location Assign Storage Characteristics; Zone Assign Storage Characteristics; and Warehouse Assign Storage Characteristics.

  1. Specify this information:
    Location Code/Zone Code/Warehouse Code
    The code for the relevant storage area.
    Characteristic Code
    The code for the characteristic to be assigned to the storage area.
    Short Heading
    The short heading of the characteristic.
    Logical Value
    If the type of data for the characteristic is logical value, this must be set to Yes, otherwise it must be set to No.
    Value From
    If the type of data for the characteristic is a range, this box must show the start value for the range, otherwise it must be left blank or a warning message is displayed.
    Value To
    If the type of data for the characteristic is a range, this box must show the end value for the range, otherwise it must be left blank or a warning message is displayed.
