Assigning Warehouses to a Warehouse Group

A warehouse can be made a member of more than one group. In the Inventory Business Setup (IBS), if the Warehouse Sequencing option on the Inventory Allocation tab is set to Use Default And Others In The Same Group then in the inventory allocation process (both automatic and manual) all of the warehouses in all of the groups that the warehouse belongs to are used, in no particular order.

  1. From the Action menu select Warehouse Groups Assign Members.
  2. Specify this information:
    Warehouse Group Code
    This field is automatically populated from the current warehouse group record.
    Warehouse Code
    The warehouse to be assigned as a member.
    Warehouse Description, Short Heading, Lookup and Status
    These fields are automatically populated once the warehouse code has been selected.
  3. You can also assign members to a warehouse group from Warehouse Setup (WHS). From the Action menu in Warehouse Setup select Whses Assign to Whse Groups.
  4. Save your changes.
