Specifying Decimal Places for Currency Values
The number of decimal places allowed for currency values is specified as follows:
-
The setting in the Number of Decimal Places for Result specified on the formula for the relevant value label on the transaction type. This can be one of the following:
- Use System Default - from business unit setup.
- Default to Currency - as specified on the currency code.
- Specify - enter a number from zero to five.
-
If there is no formula specified for the value label on the transaction type, then the decimal places on the currency will be used.
Note: There is a decimal places property for value fields in Form Designer. This property must always be set to SunSystems Default for Order Fulfilment values. The setting of transaction currency for this property does not relate to the currency on the Order Fulfilment transaction line, and must not be used on Order Fulfilment values.
It is recommended, on all formulae for currency values, that the Number of Decimals for Result is set to Default to Currency, unless there is a specific requirement for a different number of decimal places for that particular value.
If a number of decimal places different to that for the currency is required for a value that is entered, then a formula should be attached to the value label. The formula can return a result of zero, and the value override flag should be added to the form and set on, so that the value entered by the user is not replaced by the formula.
