Form types

SunSystems forms exist as source forms (files suffixed with.SFL) and executable runtime forms (files suffixed with .RFX).

There are three types of Source Form Layout (.SFL) files that Form Designer can manipulate:

  • System forms, which are standard forms provided with the SunSystems software. These forms can be modified directly in full mode only.
  • User forms, which are created by users such as system administrators. These forms can be edited in both full mode and normal mode.
  • SASI (SunSystems Application Services Interface) forms. These forms can only be created or edited in Full Mode. SASI forms differ from system and user forms because they must be compiled for the default business unit, irrespective of whether the form contains value label or analysis dimension information.

If you want to check or amend the type of form you are editing in Form Designer, from the View menu select Form Properties. You can only select a different form type if you are using Form Designer in full mode. After changing the type, the corresponding business unit options are selected.
