Formula Designer toolbar

The Formula Designer toolbar provides quick access to functionality.

New

Open

Save

  • Click the New button to create a new formula. Alternatively, from the File menu select New.
  • Click the Open button to open an existing formula. Alternatively, from the File menu select Open.
  • Click the Save button to save a formula. Alternatively, from the File menu select Save.

Delete

Click the Delete button to delete selected parts of your formula. Alternatively, from the Edit menu select Delete.

Undo

Redo

  • Click the Undo button, or from the Edit menu select Undo, to undo the most recent edit in your formula. Alternatively, click the down arrow adjacent to the Undo button and this displays your last 20 actions. Click the action you want to undo. If you don't see the action, scroll through the list. When you undo an action, you also undo all actions above it in the list.

    If you later decide you didn't want to undo an action, click Redo. See Redo below for details.

  • Click the Redo button or, from the Edit menu select Redo, to redo the most recent edit in your formula. You can only use this button after you have used the Undo command - so effectively redo undoes an undo. Alternatively, click the down arrow adjacent to the Redo button and this displays your last 20 actions. Click the action you want to redo. If you don't see the action, scroll through the list. When you redo an action, you also redo all actions above it in the list.

Insert Number

Click the Insert Numeric Constant button to display the Numeric Value dialog box. Alternatively, from the Operator menu select Insert Numeric Constant.

Delete Formula

Click the Delete Formula button to delete formulae. Alternatively, from the File menu select Delete Formula.

Run Report

Click the Run Report button to run a report on your formulae. Alternatively, from the Reports menu select Run Report.

Navigate Formulae

Click on the navigation buttons to navigate through existing formulae. Alternatively, from the Navigate Formulae menu select First, Previous, Next, or Last as required.

Help

What's This?

  • Click the Help button to open the Contents and Index for the Help file. Alternatively, press the F1 key.
  • Use the What's This? button to display explanations of selected controls and windows. When you click the What's This? button, your mouse pointer changes to a question mark pointer. Click the item you want to know more about. To close the popup help window, click anywhere on the screen. What's This? help can also be accessed by selecting Help, What's This? from the menu or by using the Shift + F1 keyboard shortcut.
