Sorting Transactions for Allocation

You can control the sequence in which the unallocated transactions are displayed for allocation. This is important because it can help to reduce the time it takes for you to identify the matching transactions.

Note:  For online allocation using Ledger Entry (LEN), you can predefine the transaction sort sequence in Journal Types (JNT).

Once the transactions appear in the allocation window, you can alter the default sort sequence using the Sort option. You can use many of the transaction details to sort the transactions. If a field is not available as a sort selection, a message appears informing you of this.

  1. Click in the column heading of the transaction field you want to use to sequence the transactions. For example, to sort the transactions by Transaction Reference, click on the Transaction Reference heading.
  2. Select Action > Sort Ascending, or click Sort.
