Amending a Journal Transaction Reference

The journal transaction reference is the only journal field you cannot alter from the Action menu by selecting Line > Amend. This is because the reference is used to identify the journal and it must be updated on more than one journal line. A specific Ledger Entry function is provided to allow you to amend this.

To alter the journal reference:

  1. Select Action > Options > Amend Reference to display a selection dialog.
  2. If necessary, enter the reference in the Existing Transaction Reference field.
  3. Enter the new reference in the New Transaction Reference field.
  4. Click OK.
