You can use standard journal types to enter budgets.

However, it is advisable to define separate journal types specifically for entering budgets, so that they can be easily differentiated.

Note: Budget journals are subject to normal double entry controls so you may want to define a budget suspense account and use this as the account on the balancing postings for all budget journals.
