What is the Column Data Code?
A Column Data code is required for each Financial Table column in Financial Table Columns (FTC). It is used in conjunction with the Column Basis to determine the type of value or information that appears in the column.
The use of this code is similar to the predefined Column Heading codes used by Financial Analysis Layouts and Financial Statement Layouts (FSL).
The valid types of data are as follows:
- Balance as of this period
- Balance as of this period last year
- Balance as of previous period
- Balance at end of current year
- Balance at end of previous year
- Movement this period
- Movement for this period last year
- Movement for previous period
- Period spread
- Period spread with forecast (actual for year-to-date and budget for the rest of the year)
- Reset spread
- Year to date (YTD)
- YTD this period previous year
- YTD previous year end
- YTD this year end.
Period Spread
If you select a spread column type, for example Period Spread, the Spread Start Period field appears as a run time option when you produce the report. The report uses this period as the start point for the spread.
The Period Spread data type shows the transactions for the Spread Start Period field, and rolls forward a period so that the next Period Spread column includes the next period, and so on.
Reset Spread resets the spread so that the next Period Spread column reverts to the Spread Start Period field identified at run time.
Period Spread could be used to produce individual period totals for a series of three periods followed by a total for the quarter.
