Analysis

Each journal transaction can include up to ten different analysis codes, one for each of the 10 analysis dimensions assigned to ledger transactions using Analysis Structure (ANS). Not all of these analysis dimensions may be relevant to every type of journal. Therefore, you can use these fields to identify the analysis dimensions that are required on this journal type.

  1. Click the Analysis tab in the Journal Types (JNT) dialog.
  2. Specify this information:
    Include Transaction Dimensions

    The analysis dimensions that can be used to analyze ledger transactions are identified alongside each option.

    Select the analysis dimensions that are required to analyze this journal type. When a journal is entered using Ledger Entry (LEN) for this journal type, you are prompted to enter codes for only these dimensions.

    Note: These selections can be overridden for an individual account by the transaction analysis codes entered in Chart of Accounts (COA), Customers (CUS) or Supplier (SUS).
  3. Save your changes.
