Process-specific Class Codes

This set of options allows you to categorize the different Financials processes, so that separate voucher numbering sequences are used appropriately for each type of business transaction. Assign an appropriate journal class to each Financials process. The journal classes must already be defined using Journal Class Setup (JNC).

If Voucher Numbering is set to Optional and you do not use a particular process, you can leave the class code blank for that process.

These options are deactivated if Voucher Numbering is set to Prohibited.

Default Class Code

The journal class to use for any Financials process if a class code has not been assigned to that specific process using the above options. This journal class is also used as the default for journal types that do not have a class set on them in Journal Types (JNT).

If Voucher Numbering is set to Optional, and you decide to leave any of the above options blank, you are recommended to select a default class code for this option.

This option is deactivated if Voucher Numbering is set to Prohibited.
