Configuring business rules for EDM BOD publication

Business rules are used to trigger SunSystems EDM BOD publication through functions, call points and action codes. They provide you with control over what data is published by SunSystems, and when.

When rule criteria has been satisfied, a business rule is fired and the process to publish the updated record is initiated.

Prerequisites

Prior to specifying a business rule, you must ensure that:

  • At least one publisher business unit been configured
  • Your SunSystems user must belong to a user group that can access the event profile and rules sets functions.

Creating Rule Sets

You must reference the event profile in a rule set. Select the command Publish to publish SunSystems EDM BODs. You must also select a SunSystems EDM BOD that corresponds to the function code you specified in the event profile. For example, to specify a rule set that publishes Address records:
