Defining the configuration service

Note: Some properties require the SunSystems services to be restarted for changes to take effect. Where indicated by the Restart Services icon, use the Restart Services application to reset the services.
Note: Clicking Default button resets the property to the system default value.

To specify details for the configuration service:

  1. Open Configuration Manager (CGM).
  2. Select Application > Configuration Service
  3. Configure the machine settings:
    Scope
Select the servers for which the machine settings are relevant. To apply machine settings to all servers, select DEFAULT. To apply machine settings to a specific server, select the server name. The default value is DEFAULT.
    Cleanup Checks Before Deletion
Specifies the number of times the database check routine is run. Properties and values, that are marked for deletion, are deleted after the final run. That is, the database check routine causes a delay during which the deletion of properties and values can be registered by other configuration services. The minimum value is 2. The default is 5.
    Restart services.
Configuration Service Polling Interval (in milliseconds)
Specifies the time between database checks. When a configuration service changes a property, another configuration service detects the change during a database check. Reducing the interval time results in faster detection of changes, but the frequency of database access is reduced. The default is 30000.
    Restart services.
  4. Save your changes.
