Creating Rule Data Set Keys
The Rule Data Set Keys (RDK) function is used to identify up to three data items to
be used as the key fields on a Rule Data Set.
Once you have decided on the key data items, you must use Rule Data Set (RDS) to define the valid code combinations for these key items.
Rule Data Set Keys form the top level in a hierarchy with Rule Data Sets and Rule Data Presets, as shown in Hierarchy of Rule Data.
Date, period and amount formats
The format of the date used in rule data sets is specified in Business Unit Setup as the Date Format and the Date Separator, and the date separator character is included in the data item. The period format is ppp/yyyy, and the '/' forward slash character is included in the data item. If a financial amount is referenced, the amount format automatically truncates any decimal places, and excludes the thousands separator characters.
