- Click OK to assign the new address to the customer as a delivery address.
-
Enter the following details for this address, if required:
- Description
- The full name or description of the data item or record. This is used to identify it on reports and inquiries.
- Lookup Code
- A lookup code can be used to find a record, as an alternative to the record code. It is often set to a shortened version of the description. It is particularly useful if a record is often referred to using different codes. For example, the Chart of Accounts code for Fuel Expenses is 75201 and the Lookup Code is set to FUELEXP.
- Short Heading
- The short heading, which is used where space is limited. If this is blank it defaults to the first characters of the description.
- Minimum Order Value
- The minimum value of goods or services that must be ordered by the customer for the delivery address. If entered, this value overrides the value on the customer record.
- Default Lead Time
- The time it takes to deliver to the customer at this address. This is expressed in the lead time unit selected. This is used when calculating the Agreed Due Date on a sales order line.
- Default Lead Time Unit
- The unit of time in which the lead time is expressed. For example, days or weeks. This is used when calculating the Agreed Due Date on a sales order line.
-
Note: Care must be taken when using minutes and hours as the system calculates dates to days only.
- Default Dispatch Warehouse
- The warehouse from which goods are usually dispatched to this customer for this delivery address. For example, a warehouse local to the delivery address. This warehouse will be used as the default when raising a sales order line for this delivery address, but can be overridden on the sales order entry form.
- Whole Sales Order Line Only
- Options are:
- Yes - indicates that the whole sales order line must be delivered.
- No - indictes that part of the sales order line can be delivered.
- This overrides the Whole Sales Order Line Only settings on the customer record and the Sales Business Setup.
- Customer Override Carrier
- This defines which carrier is used to transport the goods from the warehouse to the customer's delivery address. A carrier is a supplier which is defined as being a carrier on the Supplier.
- Click OK to save the details.
- Click Exit to return to the Customers form.
