Deleting analysis codes and dimensions
You cannot delete an individual analysis code if the code has been referenced on any static data or transactions anywhere in the system. Similarly, you cannot delete an analysis dimension if any analysis codes exist and have been referenced anywhere in the system. This means that once you have started using the analysis codes for a dimension you may not be able to remove them for some time.
In addition, you also cannot delete an analysis code for an analysis dimension if the analysis dimension is linked to another analysis table. This is because the analysis code will have been copied from this other analysis table. To delete this analysis code you must delete it from the originating analysis table.
Deleting Analysis Codes Used to Analyze Data
If the analysis code you wish to delete has been entered on static data elements you can simply remove it. For example you may need to remove it from any ledger accounts, assets, customers and so on.
If the analysis code has been entered onto transactions, for example it may have been entered on ledger transactions, you are not able to delete the code until the transactions have been cleared down from the system.
If particular analysis codes and dimensions are no longer required, you should set the status of these codes to Closed to prevent them from being used any further while you wait to be able to delete them from the system.
