Specifying Access to Printers

From the Printers dialog, you can apply security to a printer by selecting it then clicking the Set Security Permissions button. This opens the Properties dialog containing the Security tab.

When the Security tab list contains no groups or users

From this tab, you can add groups and users using the Add button to open the Select Users or Groups dialog. In this dialog, from the list of users and groups, you can click an item to activate the Add button. Use this Add button to add your selection to the list of users and groups able to use the specified printer.

From the Select Users or Groups dialog, to remove a group or user from the list of those you have added, first select it to activate the Remove button and then click Remove.

When you have finished adding or removing groups and users, click OK to close the Select Users or Groups dialog and return to the Security tab on the Properties dialog. This lists the groups and users of the specified printer with indicators to show whether their access to the printer is allowed or denied.

Click OK again to close the Properties dialog and return to the Printers dialog.

When the Security tab list contains groups or users

From this tab, to remove groups and users, select the group or user to be removed. This activates the Remove button. Click Remove then click OK to close the Properties dialog and return to the Printers dialog.
