Importing reports

To import a report:

  1. Highlight the folder where you want to place the imported report, then from the Action menu, select Import. This opens the File Import wizard.
  2. On the Select Files page, use Add Files and Add Folders to browse to and select the reports and folders you want to import.
    When you click Add Folders, this opens the Browse For Folders dialog where you can select a folder from your Desktop or other accessible location. In the Browse For Folders dialog, you also have the New Folder option to create a new folder to which you can copy or move the required file, before importing it.
  3. You can select several reports and folders from this page, then click Next to move to the Select Target Folder page.
  4. From the Select Target Folder drop-down list, select the folder to import and uncheck the check box if you want the selected files to be imported to the target folder without generating a new folder. Click Next to continue through the Wizard.
  5. Follow the guidance notes on each page of the Wizard to select backup rules and validation rules and then to confirm your settings. From the Confirmation page, click Finish to close the File Import Wizard.
  6. After the import process is finished, the Import Result dialog is displayed. This summarizes the result of the import with information on the number of items imported successfully and those that have been rejected.
  7. From the Import Result dialog, click View Log to display the Import Log where you can view more detailed information, including details of the target folder into which items have been imported.
  8. You can review the import log later by accessing the System Logs folder, in the Central Files folder.
