Running and Viewing Burst Reports

Use Report Manager to view a burst of reports.

Burst reports are those that are separated into several smaller reports according to how the data is grouped in the report. Each group of information can be output as an individual report and the complete set of reports comprise a batch. The process of separating a larger document into smaller sub-documents is generally known as 'bursting'.

  1. From the File menu, select Preview Report.
  2. On the Parameters page, check the Burst Report check box.
  3. For the Output Path, either use the magnifier to select a path containing $KeyValue, from the list of available paths, or enter a name in the Output Path field, for example /Burst Reports/$KeyValue (where Burst Reports is the name of a folder that has been set up).
  4. Click Run at the top of the Parameters page. This generates the report and the system returns a message displaying the batch number.
