Filter edit area

The filter edit area is used to create and amend filters. It is split into an upper and lower portion.

The upper portion of the filter edit area displays filter conditions as a graphical, tree structure and is used for editing selection criteria. Within this portion of the screen:

filter1.png Simple conditions with no runtime entry values are represented as a single yellow filter.
filter3.png Simple conditions with runtime entry values are represented as a single green filter.
filter2.png Compound conditions are represented as a multiple filter.

The lower portion of the filter edit area has two tabs:

  • Selection Summary: Displays filter conditions in textural form as an equation. Filter conditions cannot be edited in this portion of the screen.
  • Sort Criteria: Used to display and edit any sort criteria applied to a filter.

The default position of the filter edit area is at the right of the Filter Designer (FLD) dialog.
