Amending a Journal Line Prior to Posting

Note: These steps cannot be used to amend the Transaction Reference.

Journal lines are amended using Ledger Entry (LEN) as part of the journal entry process.

To amend any journal line details:

  1. Access the journal line you want to amend. Select Action > Line > Go to to page through the journal lines, or click on the journal line in the grid, if its available.

    Alternatively, select Action > Line > Amend to select a specific journal reference and line number. In the pop-up dialog, enter the transaction reference and line number of the journal transaction you want to amend and click OK. Then confirm your choice to display the journal line details in the input fields.

    If you cannot access these Action menu options, it is probably because the form is still in journal input mode. You should click Cancel.

  2. Click in the field you want to amend and enter the new or revised details.
  3. Click OK to save the revised journal line details and update the totals accordingly, if necessary.
