Running the Enhanced Depreciation Elements at Year End

  1. Ensure that normal depreciation has been run for the last period of the year.
  2. Select the assets which require a reduction depreciation using Asset Reduction Depreciation Selection (FDR).
  3. Run the Asset Reduction Depreciation Calculation (FAR) function. You can initially run it with the Post Transactions option set to No, to verify the calculation report before posting the definitive reduction depreciation journal.
  4. Run the Asset Advanced Depreciation Selection (FDA), using a process mode of Reset to select the assets for inclusion in the advanced depreciation calculation, according to the relevant Apply From and Term of Years settings in Asset Records (FAS).
  5. Run the Asset Advanced Depreciation Selection (FDA function), using a process mode of Exclusion to select the assets that you want to exclude from the current year's advanced depreciation calculation, which would otherwise be included under normal circumstances.
  6. Run the Asset Advanced Depreciation Calculation (FAA) function. You can initially run it with the Post Transactions option set to No, to verify the calculation report before posting the definitive advanced depreciation journal.
