Oracle OpenJDK 20

Oracle OpenJDK is a prerequisite for SunSystems and must be maintained with the latest performance and security enhancements. Windows environment variables are used by SunSystems to establish the location of these local installations.

SunSystems 6.3 PS58 and later is compatible with Oracle OpenJDK 20. This ensures your environment has the most recent security updates for Oracle Java Development Kit.

Note: New installations of SunSystems must use Oracle OpenJDK 17 or earlier on the base installation, before applying the latest patch set.
Complete these steps to install OpenJDK 20:
  • Ensure that SunSystems 6.3 PS58 has been installed.
  • Download the zip for Windows/x64 from https://jdk.java.net/20/
  • Unzip the file into C:\JavaPlatform or an equivalent folder and update the SUNSYS_JAVA_HOME64 environment variable with this location.
  • Run Restart Services to update Java on your existing installation.
