Working Capital

View the company’s ability to meet short-term liabilities with short-term assets.

The Working Capital widget shows a bar chart for analyzing trends and patterns in the company's short-term financial situation. The horizontal axis represents the selected time frame or analysis code, and the vertical axis represents the working capital amount for each time frame or analysis code. The retrieved balances are aggregated based on these selected view types:

  • Period
  • Year
  • Ledger Analysis

Query logic

Working capital = Current assets − Current liabilities

The Working Capital widget queries the SunSystems Cloud with analysis codes that represent account groups. The widget retrieves balance data for all accounts that are associated with the selected current asset and current liability analysis codes. The data is filtered by business unit and time range.

The working capital is calculated for each aggregation bucket. The total liability balance is subtracted from the total asset balance.

The bar chart shows the working capital values across the selected dimension. When you hover over a bar, the calculated working capital value is displayed.
