Data Access Groups

With Data Access Groups (DAG) you can apply security to the data that is entered and maintained in SunSystems. They enable you to pull together operator groups so that you can permit them to access, or prevent them from accessing, individual data records.

For example, you might have some confidential accounts that may only be accessed by certain personnel, in which case an appropriate data access group must be defined and applied to those account records in Chart of Accounts.

DataLink reports operate in the same way as they do through SunSystems. They use the same data access options in Business Unit Administration (BUA) > Data Access Security tab and User Groups (SEG) > Miscellaneous Permissions > Data Access Restrictions tab as do the Cobol applications.

Note: If the DAGs settings have been updated, it will be applied to DataLink around an hour later.
