Installing Microsoft SQL Server

Complete these steps to install Microsoft SQL Server.

  1. Run the Microsoft SQL Server installer.
    Note: SQL Server Authentication must be included in the selection.
  2. Select Installation > New SQL Server stand-alone installation or add features to an existing installation
  3. Select Perform a new installation of SQL Server.
  4. In the Instance Features dialog, select the Database Engine Services.
  5. Select Instance Configuration > Default Instance to install a default instance of Microsoft SQL Server.
  6. Click Install.
