Installing or updating Apache ActiveMQ

Before updating Designer Edition, you need to download the new version of ActiveMQ, and set the environment variable to the new version. Use the currently supported version of Apache ActiveMQ to ensure your environment has the most recent security updates.
Note: Currently supported version of Apache ActiveMQ is 5.17.6.

To install or update Apache ActiveMQ, complete these steps:

  1. If you are updating an existing SunSystems installation, all SunSystems users must be logged out and all SunSystems services must be stopped.
  2. Open https://activemq.apache.org/components/classic/download/classic-05-17-06.
  3. Click the Windows download link apache-activemq-5.17.6-bin.zip. This downloads the Apache ActiveMQ zip file.
  4. Unzip and save the files to C:\SunSystemsPlatform\apache-activemq-5.17.6 or an equivalent folder.
  5. If you are updating ActiveMQ on an existing SunSystems installation, then you must specify the installation directory in the SUNSYS_ACTIVEMQ_HOME environment variable and run Restart Services. If you are installing a new version of SunSystems, then SUNSYS_ACTIVEMQ_HOME is set during the installation process.
  6. If required, run Restart Services.
