Creating profiles

This topic provides a summary of how to create profiles.
Note:
  • To create a profile in Transfer Desk web, you must be a SunSystems Connect Administrator, or Designer.
  • A red exclamation mark indicator is displayed by mandatory fields that are incomplete. You must complete these fields before you can run the profile.
  • Some fields can be set to Overridable. Select this option so that the value for that field can be changed at runtime.
  1. Select TRD from the main SunSystems window to open Transfer Desk.
The form to create a new profile opens automatically.
  2. Select a profile type.
The profile type defines the source and target components that must be provided. Select from:
    Import
Use to import data into the SunSystems database. Non-SSML format data can be transformed to SSML format as part of the import.
    Export
Use to export data from the SunSystems database. SSML format data can be transformed to an external data format, if required.
    Internal Transfer
Use to transfer internal data within a SunSystems database. This type of profile exports data, transforms it, and then re-imports it in one process.
    External Transfer
Use to transform external data into another data format. This type of profile imports external data, transforms it, and then exports it in one process.
    Process
Use process profiles to perform complicated functions in SunSystems. For example, to do a payment run, when creating a process profile you can select from a list of available processes. The appropriate runtime options are then displayed for a payment run.
  3. Enter a unique profile name. This name is given to your profile and identifies the profile.
  4. Enter a description of the profile.
  5. For the type of profile you are creating (Import, Export, Process, Internal Transfer or External Transfer), select the appropriate component and source or target data format for the data to be transferred.
  6. Select a transformation.
Where the source and target are the same SunSystems data format, a default system transformation is provided for you. You must create a transformation if the source and target formats are not compatible.
  7. If required, specify the SunSystems Context.
If this profile is for a specific business unit, then select it, otherwise leave blank so it can be selected when the profile is run.
Note: For a Financials Only business unit, we recommend that import profiles contain financials only data. You can import Order Fulfilment data into a Financials Only business unit, but only the financials data will be included; any Order Fulfilment data will be ignored.
  8. If required, select a filter.
  9. Specify Save Payload. Select whether the input payload, the output payload, or both payloads are saved during processing. If you do not want to save the payload, select None.
  10. Click Save to save your changes.
