Running ledger exports that use range control
You can control the export of journal data for audit purposes to ensure that data is not duplicated or missed when being transferred.
You can set one or more ledger export profiles to apply range control when run. Range control acts as a filter on a journal number when extracting data for a business unit. Using range control prevents records being duplicated or missed when extracting data.
When a profile is run, you specify the range of journal numbers to be extracted. You must specify the Journal number from value, or it defaults to 1. The Journal number to value can be overridden, but the default value is the latest, or highest, posted journal number. The range of journal numbers extracted is recorded for each run. The last range that you enter can be repeated by specific selection, but no other repetition is possible. On the next run, the Journal number from value starts at the previous highest number which is the value of Journal number to plus 1.
If no journals exist for the selected business unit and ledger combination, an error message is displayed and the export does not run.
Using range control
To use range control, select Export as the profile type, and Ledger as the source component. Select the Ledger Specific tab, and select Yes to enable range control.
