Validating Corporate Allocations
A corporate allocation is validated in two stages:
- The first stage is to check the combined allocation parameters for consistency. That is, the allocation setup, allocation source, allocation target and allocation ratio details. If an error is discovered during this stage, the allocation run is abandoned and the allocation report lists the errors found.
- The second validation step is carried out for each allocation sequence in the rule. If transactions are created for posting to the source business unit, then these are verified first.
When the Target Posting field in Corporate Allocation Setup (CAD) is set to Direct, then the target business unit is checked to ensure that the transactions can be posted automatically by Ledger Import (LIM).
The transaction date for postings generated by Corporate Allocation Run (CAL) is taken from the last date of the range of source transactions, unless the Posting Detail option is set to All At Transaction Level in Corporate Allocation Setup (CAD).
Retaining Information from Source Transactions
Some of the Posting Detail options in Corporate Allocation Setup allow Corporate Allocation Run to create target source reversal and/or offset transactions from each individual source transaction, rather than combining the analysis and conversion codes.
If the Posting Detail options in Corporate Allocation Setup are set to All At Transaction Level or Target At Transaction Level, then the following information may be retained from the source transactions:
