Editing Ledger Import Files

Manual Editing

You can import journals to the journal hold file by setting the Post to Hold option in Ledger Import Run-Time Parameters. This allows you to edit the journal using Ledger Entry (LEN).

Automatic Editing

Some imported items are edited by the Ledger Import process before they are validated:

• If the debit/credit indicator is undefined, it is ascertained from the content of the amount fields. A '-' minus sign results in a debit.
• If you have chosen to left justify ledger import references in Ledger Setup (LES), all transaction references are shifted to the left to match the SunSystems Financials format.
