A Typical Prima Nota Usage Example
SunSystems Provisional Postings facility ensures the integrity of your data and reports. It is therefore important that transactions remain as provisional postings until they are definitive. Once you have produced definitive daybook or tax listings, the provisional postings become permanent and no further amendments are possible.
You can use the following set of typical procedures as a basis from which to devise your own:
- Amend Ledger Sequences (LEQ) so that the Registration Date field shows the date at the start of the registration period. This date is then independent of the calendar date and is concurrent with the accounting period used in Ledger Entry (LEN).
- Increment the registration date as required for sequence number codes until all transactions have been registered to the required registration period.
- Run statutory reports so that you can check the accuracy of data in the rough book. Note that if you are using Daybook Listing (DYL), or Tax Reporting (TXR), you should check that the Final/Definitive Request field is set to No.
- Use Recall Provisional Journals (PRJ) and Ledger Entry (LEN) to amend incorrect provisional postings.
- Post all provisional entries for the required registration period, entry date range, as permanent postings by running Daybook Listing (DYL), or Tax Reporting (TXR), with the Final/Definitive Request field set to Yes
- Run statutory reports to produce the necessary civil and fiscal reports. The reports produced are fixed and final, and the Prima Nota for the relevant registration period is closed.
