Can a Payment Account Become Overdrawn?
A payment, or bank account can have a debit or credit balance. Under normal circumstances SunSystems does not prevent payments being produced from a payment account that results in the bank account becoming overdrawn.
If you want to prevent a payment account being overdrawn, you can assign a payment limit to the payment run by setting the Total Payment Limit field in Payment Profiles (PYP). This stops payments being produced once a total payment amount is reached.
You can also choose to display a warning message if a payment run takes a payment account into an overdrawn position. The message varies depending on the bank account overdrawn warning settings in operator permissions specified in the Security. You can exclude the warning message altogether, display the message without the overdrawn value, or display the full message including the overdrawn amount.
The message also allows you to either abandon or continue with the payment run.
