Specifying chart layout

On the General tab:

  1. In the Name field, type a name for the chart.
  2. In the Chart Type field, select the type of chart from the chart type list, for example Bar, Pie, Line or Scatter. This displays a thumbnail representation to the right of your selection.
  3. From the Chart Sub-type field drop-down list, select the variant of chart you require, for example for the chart type Bar you could select Simple Bar, Stacked Bar or 100% Stacked Bar.
  4. Optionally, in the Title field type give the chart a title. The title is displayed at the top of the chart when deployed. Click Style to display the Styles Properties dialog where you can make selections from drop-down lists to change its appearance, for example the font and color of the chart title.
  5. Click Chart Area Style to open the Style Properties dialog where you can select the style and color of the chart's border and background.
  6. Use Plot Area Style to select the style and color of the area of the chart which contains the charted data.
  7. Click OK to save the changes.
Note: The Palette field is reserved for future use. Selecting items from the drop-down list does not have any effect in this version of Report Designer.
