Selecting results destinations

After you have created a new, or opened and amended an existing filter:

  1. From the File menu select Select Results Destination.
  2. Use the radio buttons to specify whether the results of your filter should be sent to a program or a form.
  3. If you require the results of your filter to be:
    • Sent to a program, use the drop down list to select the appropriate program. When using this method, you can print the report directly from the Document Format dialog. This is displayed when the filter is invoked, for example, when launching Ledger Inquiry (LAQ).

    • Sent to an existing form, use the drop down list to select the appropriate item. When using this method you can review the transactions and print them in a report from the Control Desk form. This is displayed when the filter is invoked, for example, when launching Ledger Inquiry (LAQ).

    • Sent to a new form. Complete these steps:
    1. Click Generate to display the Generate New Results Form dialog.
    2. Select the data items to be displayed by highlighting them in the Data Items in Hierarchy Node dialog.
    3. If required, reorder the data items by clicking the up and down arrows next to the Selected Results Form Columns dialog.
    4. Click OK. The Generated Results Form Details dialog is displayed.
    5. Enter a Form Code to identify your form. This must be an upper case alphanumeric code up to eight characters long. The form code appears in the form dialog title bar.
    6. Enter the alphanumeric Form Description of up to 64 characters.
    7. Click OK.
    Note: Document Format must contain records created using the same business function as the one your filter was created for, for example, SALQ for Financials Inquiry.
    Note:  SunSystems Form Designer is used to generate and compile a grid form displaying the selected data items. This is saved in an SFL file.
  4. Click OK.
