Selecting initial summarization levels

When summarization levels are selected, the default initial summarization level is the first sort criteria displayed in the list in the filter edit area. This can be amended to any of the summarization levels, or can be deselected altogether.

  1. Create a new or open an existing filter with one or more sort criteria assigned as summarization levels.
  2. Within the lower portion of the filter edit area, ensure the Sort Criteria tab is selected.
  3. Check the required check box in the Initial Level column of the sort criteria table.
    Note: A data item must be selected as a summarization level before it can be used as an initial summarization level. Selection of data items not already used as summarization levels is disabled. Only one initial summarization level can exist within a filter. Selecting a data item as an initial summarization level automatically deselects any data items already selected.
