Dataset size considerations

API endpoints are included to cater for large and small data requests and will route to either Query API or SSC.

Large data sets

Large data sets are typically payloads with hundreds of updates to multiple business objects or records. The response time is usually greater than 60 seconds.

Traditionally large journals are sent in SSC Payloads (XML) and consumed via the SOAP API. The current plan is a dropbox methodology whereby SunSystems storage can be used by API actors to drop large payloads into a storage folder for SSC to consume much in the same way as today (via SOAP).

Small data sets

A small data set is an update or request for one record, or a field from one record. Typically the response time is less than 60 seconds.

Q&A

Q&A uses ION API for data access with SunSystems and can retrieve potentially very large datasets.

IDM Data Capture

IDM data capture data enhancements by delivering capability to query and retrieve records from SunSystems, for example, a list of account codes.
