Setting up Automatic Allocations from Warehouses

To use automatic allocations from warehouses the Warehousing Sequencing field on the Inventory Business Setup must be set to Use All Warehouses, or a default warehouse code must be set as outlined below.

If this is not the case, the message Warehouse not found is displayed on the status bar during sales order entry.

If manual allocation is attempted for the order line, all available receipts for the item are displayed.

The system searches for the default warehouse in a specific order:

On Sales Order Lines:

  1. Warehouse Code entered on the Sales Order Line.
  2. Default Dispatch Warehouse set on the Customer Delivery Addresses Setup.
  3. Default Dispatch Warehouse set on the Customer.
  4. Warehouse set as the default location ID on the Item Master.
  5. Default Dispatch Warehouse set on the Item Master.

On Movement Order Lines:

  1. Warehouse Code entered on the Movement Order Line.
  2. Warehouse set as the Default Location Id on the Item Master.
  3. Default Dispatch Warehouse set on the Item Master.
