Producing a Daybook Listing

Daybook Listing (DYL) shows transactions by reference, which fall within a specified range of entry dates.

You can use Daybook Setup (DYB) to tailor the way daybook listings are produced. You can control the way transactions are sequenced, how daybook sequence numbers are applied to the transactions, and exclude transactions for selected journal types and accounts.

On a definitive daybook listing, sequence numbers can be assigned automatically to transactions. In addition, a continuous page numbering sequence can apply from one daybook listing to the next.

The following steps are required to produce the Daybook Listing:

  1. Access Daybook Listing (DYL) from SunSystems.
  2. Enter the report parameters, for example, to select the range of transaction dates you require.
  3. Select Action > Print. The standard document format print request form appears to allow you to control the production of the payment documents.
  4. Enter the remaining print request details and click OK.
Note: If a transaction reference number stream is being used to continue the page numbering from the previous daybook listing, you may have the option to override the next page number to be printed in the Data Settings section on the Document tab. The option to use the transaction reference as the page number, and the ability to override this at run time, is set for the document format using Document Format (DFS).
  5. Enter the Transaction Date From/To which is an entry date, or range of dates, to be included in your report. These dates must be within the fiscal year.
  6. Select the Definitive Request option to change the provisional transactions included on the report to permanent transactions, to assign daybook sequence numbers to the transactions, for the Next Sequence Number on the Number Stream Details Setup to be updated with the next page number and to include continuous page numbers on the report, if required.
The Daybook Listing does not calculate the last page number or write back the last page number to the number sequence if the Pre-Printed Sequence is set to Pre-Printed Stationery.
  7. Select Yes to reprint a daybook listing for which you have already printed a definitive request with a new start page number. If you select this option, you can only select a range of dates which is prior to the date in the Last Process Date field in Daybook Setup.
If you select Yes to reprint the Daybook Listing, you must also manually set the start page number based on the last page number printed on the previous report.
