Formula

  1. Specify this information:
    First Column Number

The number of the column upon which you want to perform a mathematical operation. The column entered must be already defined. You must enter the Column Number, not the column Print Position.

    First Column Value Basis

Select Row if the value to be used is to come from every row of the report. Select Statistic if the value is to come from the previous statistic row.

    Calculation Operator

The operator used for the calculation. The following operators are available:

    Operator Meaning Use
+ add Adds the two columns together.
    - subtract The second column is subtracted from the first column.
    * multiply The two columns are multiplied together.
/ divide The first column is divided by the second column.
% percentage The first column is expressed as a percentage of the second column.
Total total All columns between and including the two specified columns are totalled.
    Second Column Number

The number of the second column upon which you want to perform a mathematical operation chosen above.

    Second Column Value Basis

Select Row if the value to be used is to come from every row of the report. Select Statistic if the value is to come from the previous statistic row.

    Exclude Mathematics from Totals

Select this option, if you are using a mathematical procedure for this column, but want the totals to be calculated by addition. Leave blank to calculate the total by the defined mathematical procedure.
