Setting up column codes

Financial reports include columns of data. You can define what is included in each column. This can include actual, budget and calculated data.

To be able to use the Financial Analysis and Financial Statements, all column headings must be defined separately in Financial Reports Column Headings (FRH) in addition to the ones already predefined. Therefore you cannot set up a report without having already defined the column headings you require. The information defined on the column headings is displayed in Financial Analysis Layouts and Financial Statement Layouts when the new column heading codes are selected.

In Financial Analysis and Financial Statements there are twelve columns available. They are identified as columns A to L. These report writers use column codes to determine the type of value that appears in a column on a report. The column codes are defined using Financial Reports Column Headings (FRH).

You can change the descriptions of the predefined column codes by amending their Column Headings fields.

You can also create user defined calculation columns, using an algebraic expression between two other columns that must appear on the report to the left of the calculated column.

Note: Financial Table reports use a separate column function, Financial Table Columns (FTC). The column data codes used in Financial Table Columns are not the same as the column codes used in Financial Analysis and Financial Statements.
