Deleting ranges

If you want to delete a range of records within the function you are working on, you can do so by using the Range Delete action.

Note:  Range Delete is only available within the static data maintenance functions.

Select Range Delete from the Action toolbar button. The Range Deletion form is displayed. Enter values in the From and To fields in order to determine the range in which the deletion takes place.

  • If both fields are left blank the range deletion covers the entire range of records available.
  • If a value is entered in the From field only, that single record is deleted.
  • If a value is entered in the To field only, the first record available to the record specified is deleted.
  • If both fields are specified records within that range only are deleted.

Once the range has been supplied click OK. A warning message is displayed offering the option to delete selectively, i.e. one record at a time.

  • If you click Yes, you are presented with each record within the range you have specified (for which you have permission), and you are asked to reconfirm the deletion. Click Yes to delete the record, No to keep the record and move on to the next record within the specified range or Cancel to terminate the range delete process.
  • If you click No, a warning message is displayed stating that the whole range specified will be deleted. You can still cancel the process if you change your mind.
  • Click Cancel to terminate the Range Delete process.
