Profiles overview

Profiles are used to transfer data.

A profile defines:

  • the type of data transfer: import, export, transfer, or process.
  • the source or target data formats to be used in the transfer process, depending upon the transfer type specified.
  • filtering and summarizing on export, if applicable.
  • any data transformation to be carried out during the transfer process. You do this by attaching an existing transformation to a profile.
Note: Transformations are mandatory. Where the source and target are the same SunSystems data format, a default system transformation is provided.

Running profiles

Expand the Profiles list for quick access to a profile. Click Run to run it, or click Edit to change the settings, then click Save to save your changes.

View the progress status of current and past profiles that have been run, using Integration Activity. Click INA from the main SunSystems menu.

Note: Any XML files that do not specify the encoding used are assumed to be encoded using UTF-8 (ASCII) when processing using Transfer Desk.
