Lookup Tables

Note: The user must be an Administrator in the SunSystems Connect security group to use Lookup Table designer.

Create and edit lookup tables using Lookup Table Designer. A lookup table is used to define a list of 'transformed output values' dependent on ranges of source data, which are used by the transformations in Transformation Designer.

Note: Lookup functionality uses alpha collation only, that is, text strings in alphabetical order. For example, lookup tables can be used for ranges of account codes and analysis codes, as they are alphanumeric. However, it is not recommended to use lookup tables for ranges of numeric data, such as dates, journal numbers or financial amounts.

A lookup table contains either business unit specific data, or global data. You can use Lookup Table Designer to make changes to lookup-based transformations of any SunSystems data, including export and import data, globall data or data specific to a business unit. This eliminates the need to perform hard-coded mappings using JavaScript functionality.

To access Lookup Table Designer, open Transfer Desk (TRD) and select Configuration Lookup Table Designer.

Note: It is recommended that you are fully conversant with the Transformation Designer functionality before using Lookup Table Designer.
