Dates and the Login Date

When you log in to SunSystems, depending on your user setup, the Login Date dialog is displayed, enabling you to change this date if required.

The login date is used as the default date during the current session. For example, when you are asked to enter the date of a transaction, report, and so on. You can accept the default displayed instead of typing in the date.

Note: The Login Date form may not be displayed, depending on your user setup in Security.

Changing the date at login

The login date must be in the format displayed in the Login Date form; therefore, you are recommended to select the required date from the calendar provided in the Login Date form. Other date formats can be used elsewhere within SunSystems functions, if they are defined appropriately in Business Unit Setup as described below.

To change this date when logging in, click the Login Date field and use the calendar to select the required date. Click OK.

Date formats

The default date format is dd/mm/yyyy where dd=day, mm=month and yyyy=year.

You can change the date format and the date separator for each of your business units by using Business Unit Setup. Select Amend from the Actions menu in Business Unit Administration (BUA).

You can enter dates with or without separators, for example, 010220 or 01022020.

Note: When you enter two digit years up to and including 68, for example, 28/02/68, the year is automatically prefixed by 20, for example, 28/02/2068. However, when you enter two digit years after and including 69, for example, 28/02/69, the year is automatically prefixed by 19, for example, 28/02/1969.
