Splitting Transactions in Reconciliation Manager

You can use Reconciliation Manager to reconcile only part of a selected transaction by manually splitting the transaction in two. You cannot split the amount of a reconciled transaction.

The Allow Split option must be set for the Reconciliation Account before you can manually split transactions on the account.

When you have split a transaction, the new transaction appears immediately above the original transaction in the transaction list. It contains the same allocation marker and other transaction details, and the transaction amount is the amount entered in the Transaction Base Amount field. The original transaction contains the remaining transaction value.

Note: In some cases Auto-Reconcile splits transactions automatically in order to balance the matching.
  1. Select the transaction you wish to split.
  2. Select Action > Split to display the Split Transaction dialog.
  3. Enter the amount to be reconciled and a description.
  4. Click OK.
